Hace poco más de una semana se había dado como posibilidad, pero ahora Dwayne Johnson en persona confirmó el casting. The Rock volverá a trabajar con Alexandra Daddario tras su colaboración en San Andreas, ya que la actriz interpretará a un personaje llamado “Summer” en la adaptación cinematográfica de Baywatch.
Además, según The Rock, pronto una actualización sobre la interprete de C.J. Parker, el personaje de Pamela Anderson en la serie original.

El remake presentará a un serio salvavidas (The Rock) que debe unirse a un joven novato despreocupado (Zack Effron), para salvar a una playa de la destrucción medioambiental causada por un magnate petrolero. Una historia que perfectamente podría haber funcionado en un capítulo de la serie de Mitch Buchannon.
